  • Explain the importance of data lineage when considering data for inclusion in analysis & reporting
  • Explain the importance of data governance for consistent, reliable analysis & reporting that inspires confidence in stakeholders
  • Describe the characteristics of quality data
  • Evaluate the quality of data
  • Correctly identify the Levels of Measure (nominal, ordinal, interval, ratio), qualitative v. quantitative, & independent & dependent variables.
  • Describe how Levels of Measure’s unique characteristics inform analysis and data display
  • Explain different sampling methodologies, sample sizes, inclusion & exclusion considerations
  • Translate in plain language basic statistical terminology & methods utilized in healthcare, such as confidence intervals, point estimates, p values, standard errors, odds rations, rates, logistic regression & risk-adjustment
  • Explain the importance of risk-adjustment
  • Describe 1-2 risk adjustment methodologies
  • Demonstrate how understanding risk-adjustment models and predictive variables can improve data dashboards by adding important context

One-on-One Technical & Design Coaching Sessions

Our one-on-one Technical & Design Coaching sessions can help you solve gnarly technical problems or provide design tips for your dashboards and reports. Our expert coaches, the same folks that consult to health and healthcare organizations around the nation, provide you with individualized expertise on a variety of data visualization topics such as:

  • Design techniques for maximizing dashboard effectiveness
  • Prototyping tips and tools
  • Tableau Desktop and Server troubleshooting
  • Effective project management

Fifty (50) minute coaching sessions are very flexible! You select the number of sessions you want at a cadence that works for you — weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly. When possible, provide us with a brief description of the coaching topic (no more than one to two sentences or a bulleted list) the day before the session via email. This allows us to prepare for the session and gather knowledge-based materials to support the coaching. You may include any relevant employees in the coaching session but outside contractors or consultants are prohibited from attending.

During the session you will present the topic of concern through discussion and screen sharing your Tableau workbook(s) — you cannot share any Protected Health Information (PHI) unless we have a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) in place. Our Technical & Design coach will provide insight, advice, tips, and recommendations for overcoming technical issues or knowledge gaps. The coach does not complete Tableau development but advises you on methods and best practices.
